A: DUMUN stands for DuPage Model United Nations.
Q: Who is DUMUN open to?
A: DUMUN is open to 7th/8th grade students and all high school students from all schools regardless of experience! Whether you have never tried Model UN and DUMUN is your first conference, or if you are a well-seasoned delegate with several conferences under your belt, DUMUN has opportunities for everyone.
Q: What kinds of committees are at DUMUN?
A: DUMUN will be hosting three committees in total: two General Assembly Committees where delegates represent a nation and one Crisis Committee where delegates represent a person or entity and aim to achieve a personal agenda.
Q: How can I find my position for DUMUN?
A: Positions will be sent to sponsors/teachers after registration is completed. Positions will be assigned by DUMUN staff. If you are an independent delegate, we will email you a set of options for committees/positions.
Q: Where are background guides located?
A: Navigate to the menu, and select "Committees". Under this tab, select GA or crisis, depending on which type of committee you are in, then select your specific committee on that page.
Q: Who should I contact if I have a question?
A: For committee specific questions, please direct your questions to your committee chair, who can be found under your specific committee page. For general questions, feel free to email dumunsg@gmail.com.
Q: Are position papers required for DUMUN?
A: Yes, position papers are required for all delegations and committees at DUMUN in order to be eligible for awards. Position papers will be sent to Crisis and GA head chairs (check commitees page).
Q: Is DUMUN a tech conference?
A: Yes, DUMUN is a tech conference. Delegates are expected to bring computers to the conference.
Q: What should I wear to DUMUN?
A: Delegates are expected to wear western business attire to the conference.
