Program Overview

DUMUN Summer Academy I | July 30 – August 1, 2025 | 3-day intensive

DUMUN Summer Academy I was a beginner-focused Model United Nations program built to give students with no prior MUN experience a complete, professional-caliber diplomatic simulation in just three days.

How the Program Was Built

Rather than a standard camp format, DUMUN's leadership designed a curriculum that compresses a semester's worth of MUN skill development into a focused 3-day arc:

1. Foundations — MUN procedure and rules of order

2.Skill-building — public speaking, debate, resolution writing, and negotiation

3. Application — a full committee simulation on the final day, where students represented assigned countries and negotiated real resolutions

4. This structure took every student from zero MUN exposure to running a live simulation by day three.

Impact by the Numbers

DUMUN Summer Academy I ran as a 3-day intensive program, enrolling 16 students who progressed through three curriculum stages — procedure, skills, and simulation — over the course of the camp. By the final day, every single enrolled student had completed the capstone MUN simulation, a 100% completion rate that reflects the program's hands-on, high-touch design.

Why It Matters

• Real educational outcomes: All 16 students progressed from complete beginners to actively running a full MUN simulation.

• Program quality, proven: Families invested at a premium per-student rate, reflecting confidence in a small-group, high-touch learning experience.

• A model that scaled: The 3-day procedure → skills → simulation framework piloted here became the foundation for DUMUN's later, larger Summer Academy II program.

• Part of a growing track record: Summer Academy I sits alongside DUMUN I, DUMUN II, and other DUMUN programs as part of a sustained, multi-year commitment to accessible MUN education.

Conclusion  

DUMUN Summer Academy I turned 16 first-time delegates into confident MUN participants in just three days — proof that a well-designed, intensive program can deliver outsized educational impact in a short window, and a model DUMUN has continued to build on.
